According to a police report Constable Goldsworthy was shot three times with his own service revolver which had not been found at the time of this report. Constable Goldsworthy who was six feet tall and two hundred pounds was also found to be severely beaten. Investigators said that they think that the Constable who was patrolling alone at the time stumbled upon a break-in at the scene of one of two break-ins in the area.

The prime suspect was believed to have been part of organized crime from the United States.

Constable Goldsworthy had served with the agency for 3 years.
