Suspect Info: Not available Living Unit Officers Friesen and Wendl were killed during an evening shift when they attempted to lock up inmates housed on the reception range. The inmates had consumed homemade alcohol (brew). The inmates attacked the two officers when they were walking the range.
The inmates were sentenced to life in prison for the murders.
Both officers were employed at Stony Mountain Institution, Manitoba.
