Constable Kenneth (Ken) Yves Roy
Constable Roy was stationed at South Porcupine at the time of his death. He was returning home on Highway 101 in a marked cruiser after a busy weekend patrolling in Chapleau. There was a light rain. When he rounded a bad turn the car went out of control and struck an empty lumber truck. The impact was so great that the cruiser was torn into three pieces and pinned under the front axle of the truck. Constable Roy was killed in the crash. Constable Roy served with the OPP for 5 years. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
