Tetrault and 11 other officers from Station 39 in Montreal North had just run 2.3 kilometres to neighboring station 40. He collapsed upon arrival at Station 40. An ambulance arrived about three minutes later but technicians were unable to revive him. He was involved in a charity run to raise funds for the Special Olympics. Constable Pierre Houbart Montreal Urban Community Police spokesperson said, "He was considered quite athletic and really in shape, so it was a surprise for everyone. Tetrault used to bike to work whenever the weather was warm enough. He was also an avid jogger. Tetrault raised a lot of money for charities, and when police officers were asked to volunteer for a fundraising event , he was always the first to raise his hand. " Tetrault survived by his wife and three children age 17, 19, and 21. His funeral will be a private family affair.
