Constable Doug Anson and Sergeant Robert (Bob) Schrader were stationed in Saskatchewan at the time of their death.

They were killed while responding to a domestic dispute. They were shot while approaching a farmhouse in MacDowall, 30 kilometers southwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The body of the suspect was found in the MacDowall district the following spring.
