Corporal Bailey was stationed in Alberta at the time of his death.

Corporal Bailey was shot in the head as he approached a suspect. He had led three Constables to a small cabin to confront a man who had shot at his neighbor. They were carrying a warrant for the mans arrest.

The accompanying officers were, Constable Whitley who was wounded in the confrontation. Constable Stad who was also wounded and Constable Tetley.
