Constable Peazel was directing traffic on December 27,1980 when he was struck by a vehicle injuring his left leg and foot. The driver was stopped, apprehended and charged with careless driving.

Constable Peazel was taken to hospital and treated for injuries. Over a period of time he was unable to continue with his duties. On January 25, 1988 medical complications in his injured leg caused blood clots which caused his untimely death.

Constable Peazel is survived by his wife and two sons.
