![]() | Constable Claude St. Laurent Biographical Info Incident Details Constable St. Laurent died after being shot with his own pistol by a motorist he had stopped for questioning. Constable St. Laurent and his partner Constable Robert Brouillette, stopped a vehicle with two men that appeared to be acting suspiciously. As they approached the vehicle Constable Brouillette noticed the passenger was loading a .357 magnum revolver. The duo were ordered out of the car and Brouillette was able to disarm the passenger. The driver grabbed St. Laurent's weapon. Brouillette, saw his partner's life was being threatened and he shot the driver. As the driver was falling wounded he fired at St. Laurent hitting him. Constable St. Laurent was rushed to hospital but died of the wound just above his heart after nearly six hours of surgery. The driver was wounded in the hip and was hospitalized. The driver and passenger 2 men, 1, 44 year old and 1, 37 year old were being held in connection with Officer St. Laurent's death. Constable St. Laurent was a 13 year veteran of the force. He is survived by his wife and three children, 3, 6, and 10 years old.
