Constable David Perry also of the Orillia Detachment, Corporal Herbert Smart, Constable Maurice Melnychuk, and Constable George Ransom of Divisional Headquarters in Toronto.
It is known that there was a severe electrical storm in the area that caused several boating related fatalities that weekend.
Their boat was a 14 foot RCMP outboard with a 35 horsepower engine.
