Correctional Supervisor Arnold Harrison was performing a medical escort of an inmate from Springhill Institution, Nova Scotia to a Hospital in Moncton, New Brunswick. While returning to Springhill Institution, on the Trans Canada Highway near Memramcook, New Brunswick, an oncoming vehicle lost control and crossed the centerline and stuck the escort van. Correctional Supervisor Harrison was killed instantly on impact. Icy roads were blamed for the accident.
