Sergeant Jacques Philion was on patrol and had called into the station about a stolen taxi. On the way to the station Sergeant Philion lost control of his car on wet and slippery roads and collided with on coming traffic. He was struck by a truck. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
