Constable Vincent and his colleague Constable Serge Gagnon, were gunned down when they responded to a holdup alarm at a National Bank of Canada branch in Longueuil, Quebec.

Constable Vincent was shot twice in the head and died moments after he was shot. Constable Gagnon was able to make it to a nearby snackbar. He had been shot twice in the chest and once in the arm.

Three bandits including a woman entered the bank and ordered customers and employees to the floor. When the bandits noticed the police they began to open fire. Constable Vincent was shot as he got out of his vehicle.

Constable Vincent was the first Longueuil Police Officer to die in the line of duty.
