Senior Constable James C. McFadden
Senior Constable James McFadden was killed when his cruiser was rammed by a vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Highway 401. He had stopped a vehicle from Michigan in the eastbound lane, east of Tilbury, about 50 kilometres east of Windsor at 4:20 local time. One of the three occupants of the vehicle that struck the cruiser was taken to hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Michigan vehicle suffered minor injuries. The individual that rear-ended McFadden's cruiser has been arrested and charged with 1st degree murder. Apparently there was sufficient evidence from witnesses to indicate that the suspect deliberately rammed the officer's car.
