Corporal James McDonald was stationed at the Pembroke Detachment at the time of his death. Corporal McDonald had arrested a drunken suspect at a domestic dispute. He attended the call alone. While making the arrest there was a struggle. Corporal McDonald was able to handcuff the suspect and secured him in the rear seat of the cruiser before he suffered a massive coronary and died at the rear of his cruiser.

Corporal McDonald had served with the agency for 22 years. He was survived by his three children.
