Sergeant Thessereault was stationed in Montreal. He was shot and killed inside his office. The suspect was a CNR Constable who had been suspended from duty by Sergeant Thesserealt that day. The suspect then turned his gun on himself and commited suicide.

Sergeant Thessereault is survived by his wife.
