Constable McMenomy was electrocuted while attempting to prevent a fire in an electric streetlight. He came in contact with a live wire accidentally in the darkness. He died en-route to hospital. He had been with the Vancouver Police Department for 10 months. Prior to joining the Vancouver Police Department he was with the Dominion of Canada Police Force.
