Constable Boutilier died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident while responding to a call near Seeleys Bay. He was driving southbound on Highway 15 when his patrol car was struck by a vehicle driving the opposite way. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Constable Boutilier had served with the Ontario Provincial Police for 4 years and was a member of the Emergency Response Team. He is survived by his wife.
