Constable Sebborn was stationed at Kenora at the time of his death. Constable Sebborn and fellow officer Constable Alex Barichello were sent out to investigate a report of an accident where a vehicle struck a deer. En route they encountered a vehicle driven by an elderly lady travelling on the wrong side of the road. This resulted in a head on collision between the two vehicles.

The injured people were taken to hospital where Constable Sebborn died from his injuries.

Constable Sebborn spent 4 years in British Police Service before his 5 months with the OPP.

Constable Sebborn is survived by his mother and brother.
