Constable Michael Potvin drowned after his boat capsized on the Stewart River in Yukon Territories. He and another constable were taking the boat out near the community of Mayo when it capsized.

Constable Potvin, who wasn't wearing a life jacket, attempted to swim to shore but was unable to make it. His body was recovered on July 30th.
